Citizens has partnered with the Treasurer’s Office for nine years to support financial empowerment efforts
Boston, Massachusetts – Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg and her Office of Economic Empowerment (OEE) are thrilled to announce a $40,000 grant from Citizens aimed at supporting its transformative Worth & Wealth and Valor y Dinero program. This partnership is a powerful example of our shared commitment to advancing Financial Empowerment and will significantly expand the impact of OEE’s efforts in the community.
The Treasurer’s Office of Economic Empowerment helps people learn how to confidently manage their money and plan for their family's future. The department is also a resource to organizations, government agencies and elected officials as they work to support their communities' economic well-being. Under the guidance of Treasurer Goldberg, the department also works alongside policymakers to establish pathways to wealth equity in Massachusetts. OEE will use the funding from Citizens to further this work and increase access to one-on-one financial coaching and education.
"Our partnership with Citizens leads to impact: over 400 people and counting have logged in to one of our Worth & Wealth Seminars in the last year alone. Over 50 people have participated in one-on-one coaching, and we are reaching new people looking for ways to learn more about how to make the most of their dollar," said Alayna Van Tassel, Deputy Treasurer and Executive Director of the Office of Economic Empowerment. "Thanks to this generous donation, our office can deliver a program that truly helps Massachusetts residents thrive."
