BOSTON — The Alcohol Task Force convened by Treasurer Deborah Goldberg released the final report and recommendations from its review of the legal and regulatory framework governing the alcoholic beverage industry in Massachusetts.

The Task Force consisted of an independent group of professionals appointed by the Treasurer, Speaker of the House, Senate President, and Governor. E. Macey Russell, partner at Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP, served as Chair.

“I want to thank the Alcohol Task Force, led by Macey Russell, for their independent, thorough, and exhaustive review of the laws governing the alcohol industry in Massachusetts,” said Treasurer Deb Goldberg. “Our office has just begun reviewing this report and will identify next steps that can be done internally, in addition to developing long term legislative priorities that will promote public safety, help our Massachusetts businesses, and enhance the smooth operations of the Alcohol Beverages Control Commission.”

As part of their assessment process, the independent Task Force held public hearings, and established working groups. Yesterday, the Task Force made recommendations based on their findings to Treasurer Goldberg for her consideration. Click HERE to read the full report.
