In mid-February, Westfield State University became the victim of cyber theft. The isolated incident involved a $1.75 million payment that was directed to an unauthorized source.

Thanks to the strong efforts of banking officials, in cooperation with State and Federal law enforcement, the Commonwealth was able to recover $1.74 M.

Since this investigation is ongoing, no further information can be released at this time.
