Liquor Law Expert to Serve as Chair of the Commission
BOSTON — Today, Treasurer Deb Goldberg appointed Jean M. Lorizio Commissioner of the Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC). Lorizio will serve as Chair of the Commission. She replaces former Commissioner Kim Gainsboro, who left the ABCC to work in the private sector.
“I am thrilled to appoint Jean to the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission,” said Treasurer Deb Goldberg. “I am confident her experience at the local level and her expertise with liquor laws and licensing will greatly serve the ABCC and benefit licensees and consumers across the Commonwealth.
I also want to thank Kim Gainsboro for the outstanding and innovative work she did while serving the Commission.”
Lorizio is an attorney and graduate of Suffolk University Law School. She most recently served as Executive Secretary and Legal Counsel for the Licensing Board for the City of Boston. She worked there since 2000 and prior to her work at the Board, Lorizio worked in the Suffolk Superior Criminal Clerk’s office.
